Rejoice!

Thought for the Week
Let the children come to Me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Mark 10:14
Jesus spoke these words to His disciples and He speaks them to us, too. He wants us to bring our children to Him. That means that we are to teach them about Him at home and bring them to church and Sunday School. He also wants us to bring our children to Him in baptism. What a loving Savior we have! He cares for even the youngest children!

When Jesus said “for to such belong the kingdom of God”, He was saying that even as adults, we are to have a childlike faith. Not childlike in our understanding, but rather childlike in our total trust in Him. Think about the faith your child has in you! That is the kind of faith God wants us to have Him! He wants us to trust Him with everything we have and to know that He is always with us and taking care of us. It is my prayer that as you continue to grow in your faith, you can share that faith with your child!

News and Notes
·       It was good to get back to our regular schedule this week after doing achievement tests last week!
·       We continue to do Rocket Math every day. Please make sure your child is studying his/her facts if a sheet is brought home. Practicing at home is the best way for your child to advance to the next level.
·       Please make sure your child is taking time to read at home every day! If your child reads 15-20 minutes a day, this will help him/her immensely! If your child is too tired to read or would like to be reading a more difficult book, then read to your child. I can fondly remember reading Old Yeller with my oldest son and both of us crying at the end! It brings tears to my eyes now as I recall it!
·       Please return the form about the t-shirts for the musical.
·       Check out the book orders from Scholastic!
·       Have a blessed weekend! I hope to see many of you in church this weekend!
