Thought for the Week
This week we finished up our study of Jesus’ miracles. In this unit, we recognized that Jesus is true God as the Scriptures show His power over natural needs, natural forces, the ravages of sickness and pain, and even over death itself. We also remember His greatest miracle- His power over sin and Satan, evidenced in His death and resurrection. The miracles of Jesus show He cares about our problems, both big and small; He cares for the rich and the poor, the young and the old and He has power to provide for our physical and spiritual life.

Jesus did not do miracles to get attention or to be popular or to prove something. He did miracles to serve God’s purpose and plan for His kingdom. That’s why Jesus taught us in His words in the Lord’s Prayer and in His actions in Gethsemane to pray “They will be done.”

Through His miracles, Jesus showed His power as God. We know we can go to Him confidently with our requests and that He will answer them according to His time and purpose. May God bless you as you follow Him each day and as you teach your children to put their trust in Him.
