His Temptations and Yours (Luke 4:1-13)
There are few moments as dramatic as Jesus' showdown with Satan in the wilderness. Three temptations. Three answers from scripture, and the devil is defeated. But what about your life? Few of us can claim a dramatic showdown with Satan, but does that mean that Satan has been defeated? Or just that we have been deceived?
3 Requests (2 Timothy 4:11-13)
Paul makes three requests from prison, requests that tell us something about who Paul is... and about how we carry out God's mission.

Go Away? No. Follow me. (Luke 5:1-11)
"Go away from me Lord, for I am a sinful man." Peter's words ring true. When we recognize our sinfulness it is natural to want distance from God. We do not want His holy eyes looking at our sinful hearts, thoughts, and actions. But Jesus said to Peter, "Do not be afraid." And He says the same to you.
Why?
How often do you ask God, "Why?" In a world filled with sadness, Christians often find themselves asking and answering the question, "Why God?" And while there are no easy answers to that question, we always remember that God cares about His people and has a purpose for our struggles.
Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
What is the church? What does it mean to be the church? God calls His people into relationship with one another, makes them holy, and unites them into one body. And that has major implications for how we relate and respond to one another in the church.
Glory (John 2:1-11)
When Jesus turned water to wine, John tells us that he revealed his glory. And that means much more than that Jesus performed a miracle. Jesus' glory is revealed not just in power, but in love. And we, too, have seen that glory!
The Magi (Matthew 2:1-12)
Do you have a mental picture of the wise men coming to visit Jesus? Most of us do... and most of us also have the wrong picture. Is it possible that our mental picture is actually getting in the way of understanding the magi - and so understanding ourselves and our God?
Love Song (Psalm 119:97-104)
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible, and it is a love song to God's Word. The author of these 176 verses has a passion for God's words of promise, instruction, and correction that is amazing to see. How can we capture that same passion? Or is the better question, how does that passion capture us?
