We're heading to Juarez, Mexico to build a house for a needy Christian family. From June 19th-29th we'll be with folks from Immanuel, Brookfield, Covenant, and other LCMS churches to give a family something they'd never be able to get for themselves.
Casas por Cristo is Spanish for House for Christ. Build a house for a needy Christian family and help change their lives forever.
Quick Facts:
- We leave Milwaukee by 15-passenger vans on June 19th, and travel 3 days, stopping at churches along the way to sleep;
- We will spend Sunday evening through Friday in Juarez, a Mexican town about 20 miles inside Mexico, bordering El Paso, Texas.
- We will be stopping at White Sands National Park in New Mexico, visit the Oklahoma City memorial of the Federal Building bombing, and experience unqiue and meaningful worship experiences at several Lutheran churches along the way;
- You DO NOT NEED carpentry or handyman skills - you will be trained on the job by foremen from the Casa por Cristo mission organization.
- The total estimated cost per person will be $350, but we hope to fundraise a significant portion of that through various events, including a Mexican Fiesta later this spring;
