Our Goals For This Weekend:
As has been the goal for each of our marriage retreats, our main goal is to improve the way we honor God by improving the way we honor and love our spouse; This year, we will specifically look for ways to do this by using the analogy of an architect with a renovation project:

  • Taking a fresh new look at our marriages, evaluating the integrity of the structure, and make the required blueprint changes, with God’s Word as the authoritative guide.
  • Considering the cost of change—seeking God’s insight into how real change can occur, and discovering the rewards that will follow.
  • Laying the foundation, discovering three foundational principles of marriage: severance, permanence, and acceptance.
  • Begin the restoration process; using the right materials in order for us to build, or perhaps rebuild, the structure correctly;
  • Guarding against that which can destroy—termites which slowly eat away at a foundation.
  • Acknowledging that, realistically, there will be conflicts and skirmishes, but discover biblical rules we can use to keep our disagreements with each other clean and beneficial.
  • Learn how we can get better as we grow older; finding fulfillment and delight together after our children have left the next, and stay “young at heart” as we grow old in body.
The Presenters for this retreat will be Rick and Kathy Adams and Gary and Marj Janetzke.
