A Sacred Marriage

Bookstore shelves are filled with titles that offer guidance for building the marriage of your dreams. But what if God’s primary intent for your marriage isn’t to make you happy . . . but to make you holy? And, what if your relationship isn’t as much about you and your spouse as it is about you and God?

Our tenth annual retreat for married couples features the work of author Gary Thomas and his book “Sacred Marriage.”  (Your registration fee includes a copy of the book—which we encourage you to read prior to the retreat.)

It’s so easy to slip into a mindset that turns marriage into a means to make you personally happy or fulfilled.  But God’s intent for your marriage (and for all marriages) is to see how this wonderful institution is designed to lead you and your spouse to a greater level of holiness and spiritual intimacy with God.

Our hope for you through this weekend is not only that you love your spouse more deeply and completely, but that you will love God more deeply and completely.  We will learn that we can’t have the first reality if we don’t pursue the second one with all the passion and energy we have.

Why the Scandinavian Lodge

The Scandinavian Lodge has been our setting for each and every couples’ retreat that we’ve had here at Trinity—and the reason is simple—our participants have loved it!

Located in Sister Bay, about three and a half hours north of Milwaukee, the Scandinavian provides you with luxury and close proximity to all the places to see through Door County.

Our retreat sessions and Sunday morning worship are all held in the beautiful and spacious conference room at the lodge, and the service you will be provided is both courteous and attentive to every detail.

And the rates are incredibly affordable!  For just $99 a night for a  romantic studio (or $109 for a one-bedroom condo) you can book a room for the retreat.

The Scandinavian Lodge also features a luxurious indoor pool with sauna and whirlpool, a fitness center, bike rentals, and free wireless.

What’s Included?

Your registration cost is $100/couple.  That includes the materials for the content portion of our retreat, as well as a continental breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday morning, as well as a wine and cheese tasting party on Friday evening prior to our first session.

You make your room arrangements on your own by calling or emailing the Scandinavian Lodge.  Make sure you tell them that you are with the Trinity Marriage Retreat Group, as we have a block of rooms reserved for our retreat.  Call 1-888-64LODGE, or email them at frontdesk@scandlodge.com.

Directions From Milwaukee:
