The Gospel of Mark
servant hearted, kingdom-minded
Saturday Mornings, 7:00 A.M. in the Gathering Room
Led by Rick Adams
Meets throughout the Summer!
Many people who are great by the world's standards or who are in positions of authority lord their greatness over those they consider below them. Often such people expect to be served. But not our Lord Jesus. The Lord of heaven and earth took on the lowly form of a man to serve humanity and to sacrifice His life to ransom people from sin, death, and Satan. The Gospel of Mark speaks to us today about
- this suffering Messiah;
- the meaning of His sacrifice and resurrection for us;
- His call to us to follow Him in a life of servanthood and sacrifice.
ABOUT THIS GROUP
Our Saturday morning Bible study is a relaxed and informal setting for any guy who is looking to begin or maintain a regular study of God's Word. You can add to the discussion as frequently as you like, or you can simply sit, listen, and take in the discussion from others. This is a perfect study for someone who has never actually been in a Bible study before, or for someone who's a seasoned veteran of Bible studies.
Plus, there's always good breakfast snacks, plenty of coffee, and lots of laughter too. We're done by 8 a.m., so you have your whole Saturday in front of you! No need to sign up or register, just show up - we'll have a chair for you around the table.
Epiphany Lecture Series
Starting at the End - Worldview, God’s Word & Your Future
A 4-Week Bible Study & Lecture Series featuring Mr. Brad Alles
THIS EVENT HAS CONCLUDED. However, you may view each week's session by clicking the links below.
ABOUT THIS PRESENTATION
Led by Mr. Brad Alles, Assistant Professor of Education at Concordia University Wisconsin. Brad is an author and presenter on apologetics and competing worldviews to Christianity.
Is there any more intriguing topic than the future? Will humankind exterminate itself, come together in a peaceful existence, or be ushered into eternal states of heaven or hell after the Judgment Day of God? People want to know, and understanding the Bible as well as other people’s worldviews will aid Christians in grasping why events are happening around us today. In order to figure out the times in which we live, we need to start at the end.
What do Secular Humanists think the future holds? What do the New Age adherents say? What do Muslims believe? What about Marxists and their view of the future? After examining these four worldviews, we'll studying God's Word and see what Jesus revealed about the end times in Matthew 24. This presentation also looks at eschatology--the study of the last things, including death, resurrection, judgment, and the eternal states of heaven and hell.
Known for his ability to breakdown Scripture so it’s easily understood and applied, adding humor along the way, Brad Alles is a frequent Bible study teacher at Milwaukee area churches. In addition, he is a featured speaker at state and national youth gatherings, as well as youth worker, teacher, and pastor conferences. His passion for God’s Word comes through clearly in his teaching style.
This lecture series will be held in Trinity’s sanctuary and is free to the public.

The Story is a version of the Bible that reads as a narrative novel. Divided into 31 chapters, The Story demonstrates that God’s Word is not an assortment of separate stories, but a single message that communicates God’s plan of salvation in Christ Jesus.
The Story will not only be the basis for our small groups this year, but will also serve as the focus of our weekly Trinity Time Together (T3), and the subject of our pastors’ sermons over the next nine months.
Unlike small group emphases at Trinity over the past several years which lasted between 6-8 weeks, The Story will send us on a journey that takes us through May— a total of 31 weeks in all!
You are encouraged to closely examine the choices you have to immerse yourself in a study of this book—either in one of our several ongoing small groups, or by following Vicar Adam Kosberg’s blog, or, as a family, by engaging in a personal study on your own home and at your own time. Some small groups will be meeting weekly, while others meet every other week or monthly.
We are confident that this journey has the potential to grow your faith and your understanding of God’s Word like it has never grown before. Plus, you have the opportunity to live out what we publicly proclaim in each worship service—that we Grow in His Word—TOGETHER!

A Bible Study on Jesus’ Feeding the Five Thousand
Led by Marjorie Kreienbrink, Wednesday Mornings, 9:00 A.M. in the Gathering Room
Beginning September 14th
This year, Marjorie Kreienbrink’s Wednesday morning Women’s Bible study group explores a new study from the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) called Overflowing Abundance. This study focuses on Jesus’ feeding of the five thousand in Matthew’s Gospel.
Aside from the resurrection, Jesus' feeding of the five thousand is the only miracle recorded in all four Gospels. Even though Jesus dealt with doubting disciples, fatigue, personal grief, and limited resources, God desired to use that spring day to feed the masses with the Bread of Life. The lessons Jesus taught affect every area of our spiritual walk.
Join Marjorie and her group as they begin this study on Wednesday, September 14th at 9:00 a.m. in the Gathering Room.
40 Days of Spiritual Makeover
Led and Hosted by Beth Dieringer Thursday Mornings, 9:00 A.M.
8 Weeks—Beginning September 22nd
Imagine that you have participated in a fashion makeover. You look beautiful, polished, and radiant. Cries of “You look amazing!” and “I can’t believe it’s you!” reach your ears—and you feel fantastic. Oh, yes, it’s exciting, but that kind of transformation doesn’t last long. By next week, the manicure will be chipped. By next month, the shoes will look scuffed. The elegant dress will last a little longer, but by next year, it will be out of date.
Divine Design: 40 Days of Spiritual Makeover will lead you through a different kind of transformation: an alteration of attitude. Your journey through these pages will, by God’s grace, enable you to experience a spiritual makeover that will transform your heart. This renovation of character will not become chipped, scuffed, or passé. Through God’s free gift of faith in Jesus, you possess the garment of salvation: the robe of righteousness and eternal life with God. He has begun a spiritual makeover in you!
You’re invited to join Beth’s group that meets in her home in Cedarburg on Thursday mornings, 9:00 a.m. beginning September 15th.
Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah
A LifeLight Bible Study
Led by Lisa Mudge, Thursday Evenings, 6:30—8 p.m.
Beginning September 8th in Trinity’s Conference Room
Thursday evenings are Confirmation classes for several of Trinity’s families. It is also the night for handbells and the mixed choir. If you have a family member in any of those activities, (or even if you don’t!) and are looking for some way to include yourself in a Thursday evening event at Trinity, consider becoming involved in this Bible study, led by Lisa Mudge.
Lisa has been using a Bible study series called Lifelight, which provides a deeper dive into the Bible with great insights and sound teaching. This year, her study is on the Old Testament minor prophet books of Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah.
Lessons include God, the Divine Warrior - Nahum 1; The Destruction of Ninevah - Nahum 2; Woe to Ninevah - Nahum 3; Waiting for God's Answer - Habakkuk 1:1-2:1; The Righteous Shall Live by Faith - Habakkuk 2:2-20; Habakkuk's Prayer - Habakkuk 3; The Day of the LORD - Zephaniah; God Judges Judah's Enemies - Zephaniah 2; and Rejoice and Sing Aloud - Zephaniah 3
Foundations of the Lutheran Faith
Sunday Mornings this Summer, 9:15 – 10:35 in the Gathering Room “Foundations” is Trinity’s new adult instruction class leading to communicant membership. Foundations will be offered three times throughout the year – Sunday mornings during the summer of 2016, and Tuesday evenings during the fall of 2016 and winter/spring of 2017. Each session is led on a rotating basis by Pastor Carl, Pastor Josh, Vicar Aaron, and Rick Adams.
Even if you already are a communicant member of Trinity, you are invited and encouraged to participate in this study, as it will give you a solid review of essential Lutheran doctrine on key Biblical principles. As a basis for our weekly topics, we will be using the Lutheran Hour's new video curriculum called GOD CONNECTS.
Here's a preview:
If you have questions, or intend on beginning the process of becoming a communicant member of Trinity, please contact Pastor Carl (262-242-2045, email@example.com). Check back to this page for announcements on upcoming Foundations classes.
